Perfect day for exploring the waterways! Gators were throughout our tour, along with turtles, herons, egrets, osprey and an eagle. We learned about differences between lakes, bayou, slough and swamp.… Full review by travelertales

I think your trip with Cajun Country would be safe, but perhaps not appropriate for a 5-month-old. Baby should be in an over the shoulder baby carrier. It's an excellent tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide. Must climb over tree roots to get in and out of the boat. No room for baby to crawl or walk around, so would need to be held by a parent.
