We were not finished the track, due to my wife knee has some problems. This track is quite challenging, a lot of stone and high at some area. Full review by Antonius T

The first part of this walk is easy, across a swing bridge and along an easy track to a series of beautiful rapids that are absolutely stunning. The next part of the walk is on a rough track and invo… Full review by enaidnosnibor
Hello fellow travellers! I have read up more and have been advised to not drive to Milford Sound as the roads are tricky. So we will be taking a day tour to explore Milford Sound and a little of the Fjordland National Park instead. We have another day free in Te Anau so I was wondering if it is safe to drive to Fiordland National Park and do this highly-reccomended Lake Marian Track. Dates I am looking at is mid-Sept! Will appreciate any advice :) Thank you :)

Hello all! I am considering doing the Lake Marian Track with my boyfriend in mid September as I have read great reviews for this! Am just wondering if the route will be open for us to trek and if it is, will it be okay/safe for us to do so, considering it is winter-turning-spring? Looking for any tips that you might have for this too! Thank you :)

Should be open and safe if the weather is fine. Its an easy and short trek to the waterfall but if you plan to trek to the lake, please allocate at least 4 hours to trek there and back and some time to enjoy the views. Needless to say, you must be fit for the longer trek and be suitably equipped with good hiking shoes, water, food, warm clothes, windbreakers/raincoat etc and the weather can change unpredictably. Make sure you inform somebody if going on the long trek and not recommended if raining. Check with the Dept of Conservation on track conditions before starting. Early spring can still be fairly cold.
