A:
It is a beautiful place to visit. But it is on the Ring Road at least 4 hours from Reykjavik by car, so it is really an overnight trip. And it is not in the Golden Circle.

yes it is accessible but of course you have to wear proper bootwear like i wore anti slip ice grippers and held a stick.Enjoy!

Sorry, absolutely not - much too far! We took the tour offered on our Celebrity cruise and it was wonderful. A private tour or the ship's tour, but not a taxi.

With good weather it’s about 30-45 min one way. honistly you may want to stop a few times as there are some views you may want to take in. In colder months the road over the mountain can be closed or restricted. Always be mindful of the weather in Iceland.
