We got a tuk-tuk from Lanquin, which was great and took about 15/20 minutes. You have to pay in cash on entry and they would not give us change! So make sure to take the right amount. We did the Mira… Full review by Ruby W

I was there in November. It was about 75% paved from Lanquin to Semuc Champey. They said it was going to be completed sometime in 2025. No date given.

Guatemala in September So me and boyfriend are thinking about Guatemala in September however we are afraid that we cannot take buses of visit Semuc Champey due to bad road conditions- is this the case? Does it rain so much that roads become super bad? Does any one has had experience graveling in Guatemala by bus in September or during rainy season? Thanks!!

We did it in Apr & there were several days of rain during our time in Guatemala. The day before our trip to Semuc, the heavens opened in Lanquin & we thought the pools would be brown, even if we even could get to them. No problem...the trucks & buses that take you appear to me to be ready for this weather, they can't afford to stop all operations for the whole rainy season. I think you'll be ok. have a look at Semuc reviews & search for some for September time. Good luck, it's worth it
