For Dimitroff to come out and say he would not have brought Rodgers back - and for him not to get the top job - could be a sign that Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn are more inclined to reunite with Rodgers this season. There have been reports that have stated Glenn's hope to have Rodgers for the 2025 season.

Jets owner Woody Johnson told reporters regarding Rodgers’ future on the roster, “I’m going to leave that to them,” referring to the team’s new regime. He said he will not voice his opinion on the quarterback and that if Glenn and Mougey want Rodgers back, then he’s fine with that.

It is unclear whether Glenn and the new Jets front office would prefer to have Rodgers on their team. New York will have to discuss a large cap number and dead cap charge in the future as part of those discussions. But the cap can be manipulated in many different ways.

If the Jets ultimately decide to part ways with him, the veteran quarterback may approach his next opportunity with renewed motivation. A fresh start with the Las Vegas Raiders could provide him with the chance to prove that he still has plenty left in the tank.
