Toronto forward Max Pacioretty has been ruled out for the Maple Leafs' game Monday night against the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning because of an upper-body injury. Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube said after Pacioretty missed practice on Monday morning that the 17-year veteran won't play and his status for returning is day-to-day.

The 20-year-old centered the Maple Leafs' third line with Max Domi and Nick Robertson on his wings. Minten was recalled from the Marlies on Thursday after John Tavares went down with an injury at practice. Before Toronto's morning skate got underway, a few of the team's injured players were seen on the ice.

Pacioretty got hit in the head by the puck in Toronto's 7-3 win over Montreal on Saturday. He stayed in the game, finishing with three shots on goal and four hits in 10:19 of ice time.
