A major U.S. national security agency has become the first of its kind to offer buyouts to its workers. The Central Intelligence Agency on Tuesday offered employees an opportunity to leave their jobs in exchange for eight months’ pay and benefits, CNN reported.

A CIA spokesperson said in a statement the moves were meant to align the agency with the goals of new CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
