Just when the year had a promising start, the San Jose Sharks are now facing a rush of injuries. As the Sharks made their way to Utah, a few faces were missing and a few more were making the trip on a questionable status.

The Sharks are averaging 2.60 goals per game so far this season, an improvement over the 2.20 goals they averaged through 82 games last season. Nevertheless, the Sharks and general manager Mike Grier figure to have tens of millions in salary cap space this offseason to try and make upgrades at various positions.

The San Jose Sharks expect to have Fabian Zetterlund available to play Friday when they face the Utah Hockey Club at the Delta Center. Zetterlund, dealing with a lower-body ailment, did not practice Wednesday or Thursday and was considered questionable to play against Utah.

The San Jose Sharks won't be getting Jake Walman back in their lineup against the Utah Hockey Club on Friday. Nikolai Kovalenko also won't travel to Utah this afternoon and is dealing with an upper-body injury.
