A possible tornado that swept through a swath of north-central Tennessee on Thursday night killed a mother and daughter and injured at least three other people as it caused "severe property damage," officials said.

At least two people were killed and three more injured when a possible tornado ripped through communities near Knoxville, Tennessee, Thursday night causing widespread damage.

A suspected tornado event Thursday night killed two people in a small East Tennessee community, the local emergency management agency said.
