The Sooners have picked up 14 commitments from the transfer portal thus far, and there are still some areas where reinforcements are needed.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Brent Venables said the Oklahoma Sooners aren’t done in the transfer portal.

Former Oklahoma State star linebacker/safety Kendal Daniels committed on Monday, he told On3. A former Freshman All-American and Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year, Daniels totaled 240 tackles, 7.5 Sacks, 13 pass deflections, five interceptions and two fumble recoveries in three seasons with the Cowboys.

The Sooners needed big-time help at tight end, and now have brought in their third transfer of the offseason in John Locke.

Oklahoma will have Robert Spears-Jennings and Peyton Bowen leading the position in 2025. Patterson-McDonald was a part of a 2024 recruiting class that saw the Sooners also bring in Michael Boganowski, Jaydan Hardy, and Reggie Powers III. In the 2025 recruiting class, the Sooners added Omarion Robinson and Marcus Wimberly to their deep safety room.

Coming out of high school, Jones was a highly touted recruit, who 247Sports had ranked as a five-star prospect, No. 2 EDGE and No. 21 player in the country. He could help the Oklahoma defense, which ranked 29th in points allowed per game (21.5) and 19th in total yards given up per game (318.2).

Oklahoma State finally got some good news from the transfer portal again. On Wednesday, McClain Baxley of 247Sports reported that OSU defensive back Kobe Hylton has withdrawn from the transfer portal.
