California Gov. Gavin Newsom fired back at President-elect Trump after a day-long back-and-forth over the California wildfire response.

The portion of the report about the classified documents case is being withheld pending litigation in Florida federal courts.

The Justice Department said Wednesday that it intends to release special counsel Jack Smith’s findings on Donald Trump’s efforts to undo the results of the 2020 presidential election but will keep under wraps for now the rest of the report focused on the president-elect's hoarding of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

The Justice Department told a federal appeals court on Wednesday that Attorney General Merrick Garland intends to release the January 6-related volume of its final report of special counsel Jack Smith before Donald Trump takes office.
