Nearly three years after the WWE investigated alleged hush money payments made by former CEO Vince McMahon, part of the saga is coming to an end. The SEC has reached a settlement with McMahon that will put part of his legal woes to rest in what has been an ongoing saga in his life for some time.

Former WWE impresario Vince McMahon agrees to settle allegations by the SEC that he paid millions in hush money to two women without telling his board.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) stated that the 79-year-old circumvented WWE's internal accounting controls, causing material misstatements. McMahon has agreed to the settlement. He will have to pay a $400,000 civil penalty and reimburse the WWE with a payment of $1,331,000.
