We’re speaking of America’s most iconic dog show. The 149th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show returned to Madison Square Garden for the first time in five years and one dog stood above the rest.

A giant schnauzer named Monty has triumphed over more 2,500 canines to be crowned the Best in Show winner at the 2025 Westminster Kennel Club dog show. Monty's victory in New York gave the Working Group of breeds its first winner since 2004.

After coming close in the last two years, Monty the giant schnauzer won the top prize at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show Tuesday night, leaving handler and co-owner Katie Bernardin almost too emotional to speak. “He always tries so hard, and we’re just proud of him,” she told the crowd at Madison Square Garden.
