Buffy The Vampire Slayer With Sarah Michelle Gellar May Be Back?
A follow-up series is nearing a pilot order from Hulu, with Sarah Michelle Gellar expected to star, reprising her signature role as Buffy Summers, sources said. Oscar winner Chloé Zhao, a self-professed lifelong Buffy fan, is set to direct the pilot, written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman ( Poker Face ).
With its dated effects, campy tone, and emphasis on emotional storylines over pure scares, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, created by Joss Whedon, is rarely actually scary despite being a horror show.
Together, they combat the forces of the old and powerful vampire, Lothos (Rutger Hauer), who has his eyes set on Buffy.
