No injuries were reported. The state owns the ski area in Franconia Notch State Park. Officials there said in a news release that a faulty bolt was to blame. The lift was closed pending inspection.

Franconia Notch State Park is home to the spot where the famed Old Man of the Mountain rock formation once stood, chilly lakes, gorgeous hiking trails, and the Cannon Mountain Ski Area.
