The BBC Breakfast star is the latest celebrity to speak out about having their likeness used in social media scams.

Wildlife TV presenter Chris Packham told me he first saw fake articles about himself appearing on social media two years ago. He recently opened an account with Bluesky and within hours saw fake accounts re-posting these scams from other platforms.

Naga Munchetty has opened up about the target to scammers releasing fake photos of her face altered on nude bodies.

In an article on BBC News, the Strictly Come Dancing star said she has found paid advertisements on X and Facebook that included explicit fake images of her, and after investigating with the BBC 5 Live team, they discovered the adverts went to a fake BBC News website to ‘trick people out of their hard-earned money’.
