The first time Ross Mahoney saw Aliaksei Protas, the now 6-foot-6, 23-year-old forward was a tall and skinny 17-year-old playing for Belarus at the 2018 under-18 world championships in Russia.

The hulking Belarussian has been heating up with four goals and nine points over his last eight games and continues to build on a breakout 2024-25 campaign.

Protas scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Flames.
