SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Jan. 22, 2025 – Fans of Oakie the Acorn, the mascot of the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), turned out en masse Jan. 21 to see their beloved acorn’s new look.

The team’s name was born from a fan vote and owner Howard Dolgon came up with the idea for a superhero as the club’s mascot. Landing at 29 in THN’s AHL logo rankings is the Syracuse Crunch.
