FOUR more Dorset high streets will lose their banks as Lloyds Banking Group announces huge cuts nationwide. Halifax in Winton high street will close on June 4 and Lloyds in Victoria Road, Ferndown, will close on November 17.

The latest closures mean that a total of 32 banks in Surrey have either have closed or will close since February 2022. The number of Lloyds bank branches across the UK will decrease to 386, while Halifax will fall to 281 branches and Bank of Scotland branches down to 90 by the end of 2026.

Once the closure plan is completed, Lloyds will have 386 branches, Halifax 281 branches, and Bank of Scotland 90 branches. Lloyds attributed the branch closures to customers increasingly opting for mobile banking over in-person services.
