The Nashua High School graduate took on roles as a prosecutor and New Hampshire attorney general before being elected to the US Senate.

As the new governor of New Hampshire, former U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte said she most looks forward to meeting with fourth-grade students when they visit the Statehouse.

Still, Ayotte will bring her own perspective and leadership style to the job. The issues that defined her candidacy are no longer listed on her campaign website, but allies and opponents alike are waiting to see whether Ayotte sticks to several key policy positions she took on the campaign trail.
