One of Netflix’s biggest sleeper hits is Sweet Magnolias, the drama that has just aired its fourth season as of last week, and it took up the #1 spot on the top 10 list for a while. Now, it’s been dethroned by not one but two shows, one that’s expected, one that isn’t.

Season 4 of Sweet Magnolias just dropped and the popular Netflix series just got a whole lot gayer! Not to be confused with Steel Magnolias, the soapy romantic drama just dropped its latest season last week (and is currently #1 on the streamer’s TV charts!

Fans are quickly binging Season 4 of Sweet Magnolias after waiting nearly two years for new episodes of the beloved Netflix series. The new episodes picked up a year after Dana Sue ( Brooke Elliott) and Ronnie ( Brandon Quinn) renewed their vows at the end of Season 3.

If “Sweet Magnolias” fans are lucky enough to see a fifth season of the series, the next installment of episodes would likely explore Maddie’s new life in New York City (if she actually does decide to move forward with the new job). Wedding bells would likely be in the air for Helen and Erik, making that a focal point of a potential next season.

Opening Shot: Helen (Heather Headley) pops a bottle of bubbly and pours three glasses, one for herself, one for Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) and one for Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott). Because if there’s one thing these ladies love, it’s a toast. It’s just what they do!

With season 4 ending on a cliffhanger about Maddie’s future in Serenity, Anderson told Tudum, “I deeply, deeply hope that we get a season 5 so we can answer [whether the Magnolias can survive Maddie moving to New York].”
