The boy made it about 75 yards in from the south side of the icy lake before falling through a weak spot in the ice, West Long Branch Police Chief Marlowe Botti said in a press conference Tuesday. A resident called police and officers responded in less than a minute, though they weren't sure how long the boy was in the water for.
