Tiger Woods' TGL debut will be full of intrigue from his walk-out song to his performance on the league's quirky holes.

After years of anticipation, the high-tech indoor golf league spearheaded by two of the sport’s modern greats is finally ready to tee off Tuesday night.

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy watched on as the opening match of the inaugural TGL season – the new high-tech indoor golf league attempting to revolutionize golf – took place on Tuesday.

He made the first birdie in TGL history. And with that, the indoor golf competition that Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy had envisioned for years was finally underway.

Golf will look a little different Tuesday night when the TGL, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's simulator league, makes its debut on ESPN.

The TGL debuted on Tuesday night without Tiger Woods taking a shot. New York Golf Club featuring Ricky Fowler, Xander Schauffele, and Matt Fitzpatrick played The Bay Golf Club. They had Shane Lowry, Ludvig Åberg, and Wyndham Clark going on opening night. It gives the fans a chance to understand the rules and pace of the matches before seeing Woods.

TGL had its debut match Tuesday night, with Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick and Xander Schauffele of New York Golf Club taking on Shane Lowry, Wyndham Clark and Aberg of The Bay Golf Club in the opener.
