Founded in 1872, the city of Mullins became the tobacco capital of South Carolina by the end of the century. Oddly enough, that history is where the name Auctioneers came from at the high school.

Mullins Fire and Rescue responded around 9:30 p.m. to the fire. Chief Robert Stetson said that the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is taking over the investigation into the fire.
