Virat Kohli has returned from a knee injury as England won the toss and opted to bat against India in the second ODI at the Barabati Stadium.

Shreyas Iyer made a strong case for retention with a blistering 59 off 36 balls in the first ODI, playing a crucial role in India’s four-wicket victory.

Virat Kohli was not part of the Indian team in the first ODI against England due to a swollen knee. Kohli had trained with the Indian team ahead of the first match but didn't feature in the series opener in Nagpur.

This three-match series against England marks India's last ODI assignment before the Champions Trophy, which begins on February 19. The team has not played ODI cricket since August last year, when they lost a three-match series 2-0 in Sri Lanka, with one game ending in a tie.

Rohit Sharma-led India will host Jos Buttler's England in the 2nd ODI of the three-match series in Cuttack on Sunday (February 9). The Men in Blue won the series opener by a comfortable margin and a victory in the 2nd ODI will see them clinch the series with a game left to be played.
