England batter Jos Buttler scored his first-ever ODI fifty on Indian soil. This is the 17th ODI innings for Buttler on which he has reached the milestone. He along with Jacob Bethell has put England in complete control in the ongoing first ODI against India at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium,

England batsman Joe Root will make his first ODI appearance since 2023 after being named in the team to face India in the opening match of the series in Nagpur on Thursday.

The 50-over World Cup is far older and has been competed for since back in 1975. Australia are the record winners having run out victorious on five occasions (1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015).
