If you’re the mayor of New York City, the last place you want to be on Groundhog Day is Staten Island. Just ask Bill de Blasio. Or Mike Bloomberg. Groundhog Day is coming up this Sunday and Staten Island Chuck is getting ready to make his prediction on the weather: will we have an early spring or more winter?

NEW YORK -- Staten Island Chuck, a groundhog at the Staten Island Zoo, did not see his shadow and predicted an early spring Sunday. Chuck's forecast contradicts Punxsutawney Phil, who predicted six more weeks of winter after seeing his shadow about an hour earlier at Gobbler's Knob in Pennsylvania.

Punxsutawney Phil isn't the only weather-predicting groundhog that enjoys a day of spotlight. In New York, Staten Island Chuck has made his call.
