RICHMOND, Va. — On his way to the White House to attend President Donald Trump's signing of an Executive Order banning transgender women from playing women's sports, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin shared his thoughts on the president's first weeks in office.

Efforts by the new Trump administration to slash and relocate the federal work force, as well as cut federal spending, could have a dramatic impact on Virginia.

Virginia lawmakers oppose Trump's federal workforce cuts and FBI inquiry, with Senators Kaine and Warner calling the moves a threat to civil service and rule of law.
