The snow will arrive Saturday between 10 p.m. and midnight. Once it arrives, it will hit the ground running. The majority of the snow accumulation will occur between midnight and 7 a.m. on Sunday. There will be some light snow and flurries between 7 a.m. and noon but very little additional accumulation.

Don’t put your shovels away after digging out Sunday morning — more snow is anticipated to be on the way in Massachusetts in the days ahead. While the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for most of the Bay State for the weekend’s storm,

Light snow near and south of the Hartford-Providence-Plymouth line should produce a coating of 1 to 2 inches of snow Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters expect that snow should leave during the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday.

The weekend storm brought a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain to western Massachusetts, with some areas seeing up to six inches of snow by Sunday afternoon.

The snow arrives between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Thursday from southwest to northeast. It will only last a few hours in most areas (longer the farther north you live). The majority of the snow accumulation will be over by early afternoon.

Another snowstorm is expected to hit western Massachusetts overnight on Saturday, and it's best to prepare in advance.

According to Meteorologist Shiri Spear’s latest weather blog post, the storm looks like it will move in between about 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday night, with the heaviest snow falling from midnight through 7 a.m. on Sunday.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for Delaware as heavy snow is expected to hit the state Tuesday afternoon. The watch, which will take effect at 1 p.m. Tuesday, is forecasted to bring 3 to possibly 8 inches of snow to the state.
