ISRO on Wednesday achieved a significant milestone by launching the GSLV-F15 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. The rocket soared into the sky at 6:23 AM IST with the NVS-02 satellite, marking ISRO 's 100th launch from the spaceport.

The mission was also the first for the space agency’s Chairman V Narayanan, who assumed office recently. It is ISRO’s maiden venture this year.
