More than 200,000 Salvadorans who have lived more than two decades in the United States can legally remain another 18 months, the Homeland Security Department said Friday in one of the Biden administration's final acts on immigration policy.

Ahead of Trump’s taking office, the move shields Venezuelans, Ukrainians, Salvadorans and Sudanese from possible deportation for 18 months.

The Department of Homeland Security on Friday announced it would extend Temporary Protected Status for immigrants from Venezuela, El Salvador, Ukraine and Sudan for 18 months.
