Led by Pastor Monica Colbert, the group held a vigil to honor and mourn 16-year-old Zaquavious "Tank" Dawkins, a Gastonia teenager who was shot and killed while on an errand for his mother Jan. 26.

There were many tears during the memorial service for Zaquavious Dawkins. Joyce Simpson, the suspect’s grandmother, spoke about the fatal shooting on Jan. 26 on North Chester Street.
