T-Mobile said on Wednesday it expected its wireless subscriber growth this year to exceed Wall Street estimates by more than double, due to strong demand for its premium 5G plans, sending its shares up more than 7% in early trading.

Shares of T-Mobile ( TMUS 7.30%) were on the move today, climbing after the big-three telecom operator posted better-than-expected results in its fourth-quarter earnings report. As of 10:37 a.m. ET, the stock was up 8.9%.

In addition to its booming broadband business, T-Mobile US sees its direct-to-device satellite service with Starlink as an emerging monetization opportunity.

Apple has been working with Starlink and T-Mobile in secret to get iPhones ready for expanded satellite connectivity, and the feature is now enabled with iOS 18.3 ahead of the full service launch.

T-Mobile's CEO suggests that direct-to-cell Starlink service will be offered to those on its most expensive plans as a free perk. Others will be able to get it as a paid add-on.
