There's a new update about American Primeval season 2 on Netflix that is rather surprising to hear for fans of the show.

Taylor Kitsch leads the cast of the series as Isaac, a man struggling to overcome his demons, while Betty Gilpin plays Sara Rowell, a woman searching for a guide to help her and her son cross the frontier. The cast of American Primeval is rounded out by a number of recognisable faces, plus some you might not recognise.

Right now there's been no word on a second series of the show. American Primeval is listed as a "limited series" which would indicate it could only get a one season run. However, the series director and executive producer Peter Berg has revealed he is keen for the show to return, on one condition.

Producers openly admit the six-part series dropping Thursday is highly fictionalized. It centers around 1857 involving the Utah War, Brigham Young and the Mountain Meadows Massacre.
