Piracy Reporting Centre (PRC) reported 116 piracy and armed robbery incidents in the country’s territorial waters between January and December last year.

Eleven sea robbery incidents occurred onboard ships in the Strait within the first 34 days of this year. The incidents involved armed perpetrators, with engine spares stolen and crew threatened.
