The Yankees reportedly tried to trade Stroman to the St. Louis Cardinals earlier in the offseason, but they declined. Months later, however, the Cardinals are still stuck with veteran third baseman Nolan Arenado, and Stroman is pressing the issue with his comments.

Marcus Stroman was back in Yankees camp on Friday morning after being a no-show for the first two days of workouts for pitchers and catchers. The Yankees have been trying to trade the righthander because of their starting pitching surplus and the $18 million he is owed for this season.
