Oklahoma will use both state and federal law to transfer incarcerated undocumented immigrants to deportation proceedings, according to the Governor.

Governor Kevin Stitt announced the rollout of “Operation Guardian.” The initiative would deport undocumented immigrants in Oklahoma prisons.

According to the newly released Operation Guardian plan, about 525 individuals are to be removed from local or state lockups and immediately transferred to federal custody for eventual deportation.

The plan, called "Operation Guardian," includes multiple options to parole undocumented immigrants from prison to ICE custody.
