After years of anticipation, the high-tech indoor golf league spearheaded by two of the sport’s modern greats is finally ready to tee off Tuesday night.

He made the first birdie in TGL history. And with that, the indoor golf competition that Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy had envisioned for years was finally underway.

The Golf League launched last month with the likes of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods taking part but the new competition has failed to impress many in the golf world

That’s right, it’s time for the premiere of TGL, the virtual golf league that was founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. There are a whole bunch of big-name golfers participating and we’ll get to see the first night of it on ESPN and ESPN+ on January 7, 2025.

TGL, a tech-infused simulator league backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, combines team golf and simulator golf in a slick package that will air live on TV.

Woods' TGL debut was watched by more than 1 million viewers, up 9 percent from the league's first match last week and more head-to-head than the NBA drew on TNT. For the second consecutive week, the TGL produced a one-sided match with Woods' Jupiter Links Golf Club falling 12-1 to the Los Angeles Golf Club.
