Philip Morris International posted higher-than-expected revenue in its fourth quarter as its Zyn nicotine pouches continued to power results.

Zyn has taken the U.S. by storm. The nicotine pouch brand's boom came at an opportune time for parent company Philip Morris International, which faced years long decline in cigarette smoking. The FDA earlier this month authorized 20 Zyn products to be marketed and sold on the U.

(Reuters) -Cigarette maker Philip Morris International on Thursday forecast 2025 profit above estimates after recording better-than-expected quarterly results on the back of strong demand for its smoking alternatives such as ZYN nicotine pouches.

On January 17, the FDA authorized ZYNs for sale, claiming their benefit to tobacco users outweighed their risk to the public.
