Two Norwegian F-35 jets were deployed on January 15 to protect Poland's airspace due to Russian aircraft attacking Ukraine. This was the first time such an incident had occurred, according to NATO Air Command.

NATO jets were scrambled on Wednesday morning following a Russian attack near Ukraine’s border with Poland. Vladimir Putin’s forces launched a brutal attack on Ukraine’s energy sector this morning, as the Kremlin continues its efforts to cripple the country’s infrastructure.

While the Norwegian jets are primarily in Poland to help defend a key logistics hub bringing materiel into Ukraine, rogue Russian missiles and drones have entered Polish airspace several times since the full-scale invasion began.
