News 6 has learned from a reliable source that Costco is set to be on-site at the Seminole Towne Center, which is forcing many of its stores to close amid a massive redevelopment project.

Most of what’s been Seminole Towne Center Mall – the mall of choice when it first opened in 1995 – will close on Jan. 31, according to economic development officials with the City of Sanford.

The Seminole Towne Center is shutting down due to a combination of neglect and market forces, according to experts.
