The Arctic Circle Assembly is the largest annual international gathering on the Arctic, attended by more than 2000 participants from over 60 countries. The Assembly is held every October in Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Center and the Reykjavik EDITION, Iceland.

The Secretariat is based in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is responsible for organizing the Assembly and the Forums as well as running the various Arctic Circle Platforms. It is also responsible for the communication and collaboration with Arctic Circle partners, governments, media and those interested in the Arctic and its future.

Arctic science diplomacy works best when it combines the deep knowledge of Arctic residents, especially Indigenous communities, with the professional and institutional knowledge of the Arcticians. Given the boundary-transcending character of Arctic science diplomacy, our definitions of professions need to be open-ended and flexible.
