XO-3 was a design for a tablet/e-book reader intended to be developed under the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) initiative, but the project was cancelled in November 2012, [1] replaced by the XO tablet.

The OLPC XO-3 was scheduled for release in late 2012. It was canceled in favor of the XO-4. It featured one solid color multi-touch screen design, and a solar panel in the cover or carrying case. The XO 4 is a refresh of the XO 1 to 1.75 with a later ARM CPU and an optional touch screen.

XO-3 is designed around the Armada 610 system on a chip. Mass storage: 4 GiB to 16 GiB NAND flash in an eMMC device soldered to the motherboard. No rotating media. Unlike many tablets, we are still including an Embedded Controller to handle battery charging and power sequencing (subject to change):
