I have a really hard time getting comfortable in regular office chairs and couldn’t justify spending $150+ on something I didn’t know if I’d use.

I was super picky about buying an office chair because for almost 8 years I sat in probably one of the best ergonomic chairs out there. It was my ex employer, and the chair was Teknion Amicus I guess, with fabric upper, not leather. So my benchmark was high.

Aug 3, 2020 · IKEA is really hit and miss. But I have gotten some really good stuff there. Besides this chair my other best ikea purchase has definitely been one of their mattresses. Not BIFL material but as a young professional trying to furnish my apartment, I really appreciated their price point on a lot of things.

But in the end, every human is built different and it's always good to test out these chairs first. This concludes my rather negative review of the chair. Other option is to go with firmer style chairs, for example even though my mesh chair has cushy buttom, my son's Razer gaming chair feels so much better and more supportive. So there are difference between firm and plush chairs in the way they support your body, I think Ikea sort of blends both of these but doesn't make a great job for the price.
