Rumaila - Oil for Iraq
Today, Rumaila is the second-largest producing oilfield in the world and is Iraq’s greatest source of revenue. Since the establishment of the TSC, the field has produced more than 6.5 billion barrels of oil – generating more than around 25% of Iraq’s budget.
Rumaila - Field overview
Rumaila is one of the world’s greatest so-called super-giant oilfields – those that contain over a billion barrels of recoverable oil. It is estimated that some 17 billion barrels of recoverable oil are still contained within Rumaila’s reservoirs.

Rumaila - Field renewal
A further new facility in South Rumaila – CPS-7 – has also been built to an identical specification, becoming fully operational in 2024; a secure 1,000m 2 headquarters with modern office space for 1,000 staff and a purpose-built Rumaila Supply Base, the size of 24 football pitches.

Rumaila is committed to working with local and Iraqi companies. These companies employ around 35,000 people across the field in a range of services, from specialist oil and gas engineering to construction, printing and catering.
